Listening To Your Students

One of the most valuable activity in which a teacher can engage is listening to their students. Here is an excellent Ted Talk from a 17 year old student who tells us what her view of the future of education will be. Please enter into a discussion below on how we can use her ideas to make our schools better!

  1. The young ladies quote, "Emotion drives attention and attention drives learning" really stood out to me. I had a few students today who were not in a place where they could learn because their attention was being driven by their emotions. I also lead in a program that has students working independently, self paced, with the teacher supporting when needed. We are in the middle of updating our online curriculum to be more engaging and we are also putting an emphasis on teachers putting on their coaches hat to hopeful tap into students emotion.
